PRODUCTION

Our delicious, happy squash are grown in the warm, sunny climate of Gisborne and Hawke’s Bay on the East Coast of New Zealand’s North Island.

Exporting around 20,000 tonnes a year, we plant to order during the southern hemisphere spring and harvest as each crop reaches perfect maturity from January to April.

LOGISTICS

To ensure our squash stay fresh, cool and happy all the way to market, we carefully plan and manage every stage of their travel. Freshly harvested squash are carefully packed at our first-class facilities in Gisborne and Hawke’s Bay. Squash are sorted and packed into wooden export bins based on size, market and customer request.

MARKETING

Our marketing support services set us apart in the squash supply sector. We have a team based in Japan who develop in-market promotional programmes and tools that help our customers to sell squash at retail. Our focus is to educate consumers about squash quality, taste, origin and grower stories, so that squash supplied by Three Good Men delivers a happy customer experience.

VARIETIES

We focus on growing dry varieties of squash that have a superior taste profile. If the squash you need isn’t shown here, please contact us.

We capture the life story of each squash from the day it was planted to when it reaches the retailer, and everything that happens in between.

PADDOCK TO STORE

Consistently producing exceptionally delicious and nutritious squash requires unwavering attention to detail. That’s why we designed and implemented a system to record the full story of every squash we produce.

When we grow a crop that sets new levels of excellence, we want to know exactly how that happened so we can repeat it every time.

We also want to give our clients the reassurance of being able to trace every detail of the squash they import and sell to their customers. It’s just one of the ways we make everyone happy.

Each bin we deliver has a unique identification number printed on it and contains squash from only one paddock. This not only ensures consistent quality, but also provides complete traceability. Bin numbers can be traced back to show the full history of the squash in that bin.

Three Good Men specialises in premium flavour dry varieties that require advanced growing skills and close monitoring during the production stages. We consistently produce premium, export-grade squash.

Our farms operate with sustainable production methods, which care  for the soils and look after the surrounding environment.  The growing process is supported by natural bee pollination and the use of gentle harvesting and innovative technologies.

Export bins are shipped from local ports directly to our markets in temperature-controlled charter ships and refrigerated container vessels.

By minimising handling and transit times, we can deliver to our importers in Japan, Korea and other Asian countries in as little as 14 days.

Three Good Men solutions are customised and market specific. They include point-of-sale items, brand support material, articles and videos.  Our team also develops recipes and presents instore and video demonstrations with nutritional information.  Whenever possible our team will partner with supermarkets to conduct recipe demonstrations and tasting.

Our growers record every action they take as they carefully manage the quality of each crop of squash in every paddock. Each bin number not only identifies the paddock of origin, it also reveals when it was planted and harvested, and provides precise details of soil and crop management. The tracking continues throughout the packing process, transport and shipping to provide a complete history from paddock to store.
